Erine leigh

Erine Leigh is a NH seacoast poet who served as poet laureate of Portsmouth from 2015 to 2017. Her community project, Poems For Peace, was centered around the values connected with the African Burying Ground; awareness of and partial recompense for grievous past behaviors.

Leigh was awarded the Sarah Farmer Peace Award in 2018.

Her poetry has been published widely in local anthologies, in Hole In The Head Review, and in two volumes, in collaboration with photographer, Sarah Flause, called Lens and Pen from the Isles of Shoals, and A Chaste Faith.

She participated in a live production of Blank Page poetry with Jerome Meadows, designer of the ABG, and is also a reader for Barrow Street.

Leigh was most recently part of the cast of Pussy Riot, a live production directed by Billy Butler, and has acted as poet in one of his previous productions.

She believes poetry is in everyone and needs to be a living art form.
