Leo Jarret is a poet from the Detroit area. He has written three collections of poetry. One novel. (so far) and a collection of short stories. Leo started the Madhouse Poetry series in Ypsilanti, Michigan on September 21st 2011. His vision was to bring together various art forms, including music, dance, theater, comedy, live painting, live sculpting and present them as a singular performance with poetry at the center. The first events were held at a coffee house. Since then the group members have brought their performance poetry to bars, art galleries, back yards, house events and theaters. Leo and his group also staged a three day festival in July of 2015 with over 80 performers including The Shadow Circus. They now refer to themselves as The Madhouse Sessions.
